Mr. Cusack began his career
in 1980 conducting parish,
diocesan and school campaigns
in Georgia, Louisiana, Virginia,
Tennessee, Washington, DC,
Massachusetts, New Hampshire,
New York, New Jersey, Florida,
Illinois, Texas, California
and Washington to name a few
states. During the last 27
years, he has been involved
in capital campaigns that
have raised over $5,000,000,000
for Catholic causes.
In 1997, at the urging of family, friends and associates, Mr. Cusack founded Guidance In Giving, Inc. to serve the Catholic Church. Since beginning the firm, he has never veered from his mission of providing exceptional counsel and dedicated service and advice to clients under the auspices of Catholic stewardship. A frequent speaker on stewardship, development and campaigns at local, regional and national conferences, Mr. Cusack brings an extensive resume to each client and is actively involved on a daily basis with the operations of every account.
Mr. Cusack has been married since 1983 to his wife Marla. They have three daughters, Hayley who attends the University of Pennsylvania and Melissa and Jennifer who attend
Providence College.

Michael V. Goodwin
Executive Vice President
Michael V. Goodwin is a native of Annapolis, MD. He attended Valley Forge Military Junior College where he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army (Infantry). After his commissioning he went on to receive his BA in Business Management from Loyola College in Baltimore. He has a wife, Christine, and a ten year old daughter, Rachel and a six year old son, Colin. They reside in Freehold, NJ where Michael established the Mid-Atlantic Office of the firm in the late 90's.
He has been involved with fundraising for Catholic parishes, schools and diocese since 1992. Michael oversees the diocesan division of the firm and is involved with sales and supervision of parish and diocesan accounts.
Michael enjoys sports and is an avid fisherman. The majority
of his free time is spent coaching his children in Soccer, T-Ball
and Lacrosse

Joseph. W. Zamorano
Executive Vice President
Joseph W. Zamorano is a native of Baltimore, MD and has been living in San Diego since 1992, when he established the West Coast Office of the firm. Joe attended Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA where he graduated with a BS in Natural Science and Mathematics. He has been involved with stewardship, development and fundraising for Catholic parishes, schools and diocese since 1988 throughout the United States. As executive vice president, Joe oversees the parish division of the firm as well having extensive involvement with sales, operations and supervision of parish and diocesan accounts.
Joseph is on the board of directors of several San Diego Charities and is actively involved with his parish, St. Thérese of Carmel, where he is a member of the Finance Council, Building Committee and Knights of Columbus. Joseph is also involved with the DADS Club of his daughter’s school, Notre Dame Academy, and is on the finance committee of the school as well.
Joe and his wife, MaryLou have a daughter, Danielle. He is fluent in Spanish, is an avid sports fan and enjoys golf.

Stephen A. Babcock
Vice President
Stephen A. Babcock, originally from Central New York (Oswego), resides on Long Island (Sayville) and joined Guidance In Giving, Inc. in 1997. Over the last nine years, he has been involved in conducting a wide array of development efforts throughout the Untied States in arch/dioceses, parishes and Catholic high schools (including capital campaigns, planning studies, annual appeals, development audits, etc.). He has been involved with Catholic projects in California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Washington & West Virginia.
Steve is a 1996 graduate of Siena College in Loudonville, NY. He and his wife Tara were married in 2001 and have two daughters, Callaghan and Quinn.

Carlos H. Proaño
Vice President
Carlos H. Proaño has extensive experience in conducting stewardship and capital campaigns in multi-cultural parishes. One of the founders of Guidance In Giving, Carlos specializes in integrating and conducting diocesan and parish programs with ethnic communities, especially with Hispanics living in the United States. The author of “El Don de Dar”, his book explains the benefits of sharing our gifts with one another.
Practicing good Stewardship and with a Christian spirit, Carlos has served as a guest speaker along the Spanish track for the following ICSC Stewardship Conference: Arlington 2000, Toronto 2002, Chicago 2003, New Orleans 2004, and San Francisco 2005. He has also been a frequent speaker at both local and regional conferences on stewardship and development.
Carlos married his wife Margarita in 1996. They are the happy parents of Carlos and Megan and reside in Orange County, California.

Michael J. Coates
Vice President
Mike Coates grew up in New Jersey and is a graduate of Thomas Edison State College in Trenton. He has worked with Guidance In Giving, Inc. since 1997, serving Catholic parishes and dioceses for the last 10 years. Mike has worked in all areas of the United States, including the Northeast, South, Midwest, Southwest, Alaska and the West Coast helping Catholic institutions with various development needs including capital campaigns, needs assessment studies, planning/feasibility studies and diocesan campaigns.
Michael lives in Senoia, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta, and has run the Metro Atlanta office for the firm since 2002. He also continues to travel frequently in order to assist Campaign Directors under his supervision.
Mike is an avid backpacker and a published poet (National Library of Poetry.) He has 3 dogs (Nigel, Simon & Penny) and travels frequently to our country’s National and State Parks to pursue his hobbies of hiking and photography.

Joseph E. Neville
Vice President
Joe Neville was raised in Maryland and is currently a resident of Windermere, FL. He has worked with Guidance In Giving, Inc. since 2000 and serves as a Vice President for the Southeastern United States. Over the last eight years, he has been involved in conducting a wide array of development efforts throughout the United States in arch/dioceses, parishes and Catholic high schools (including capital campaigns, planning studies, annual appeals, development audits, etc.). He has been involved with Catholic projects in California, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Washington, and West Virginia. Joe took over the Southeast Regional Office in Central Florida in late 2007 from Curtis Neuschaefer and will be helping Catholic parishes, schools and dioceses in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and Southeastern U.S. help achieve their financial goals.
Joe graduated from the University of Maryland. He and his wife Kristy were married in 2004 and have a son, Evan.

Jennifer Frazer
Vice President
Jennifer Frazer, a New Jersey native, joined Guidance In Giving in 2000 after receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication from Salisbury University in Maryland. She has been a part of Diocesan campaigns in Greensburg, PA, Toledo, OH, Peoria, IL, Charleston, SC and Victoria, TX raising in excess of $200,000,000.
Jennifer has lived in Mt. Pleasant, SC for the past three years. She stays very active in the Mt. Pleasant community with her membership at Christ Our King Parish, and volunteering with Special Olympics and The Preservation Society of Charleston where she gives historical home tours.
In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys walks on the beach with her black lab mix, Charlie, plays on Co-Ed softball leagues and is a member of the Charleston Rowing Club.
