Jim Caldarola joined Guidance In Giving in August, 2011 after 27 years as the Director of Stewardship and Development for the Archdiocese of Anchorage in Alaska. During his time there, he initiated a highly successful annual appeal, conducted a major capital campaign in the Archdiocese, and assisted many parishes with their capital campaigns. He also began a stewardship education effort, promoted a major gift efforts, and initiated a planned giving program.

In addition to his duties with the Archdiocese of Anchorage, he served on numerous boards and committees including the International Catholic Stewardship Council (ICSC) Board of Directors and many local non-profit organizations. He acted as advisor to USCCBs Committee on Special Collections and is a regular presenter at the ICSC annual conference. Having received his certification as a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) in 1999, Caldarola has continued the recertification process required by the International Certifying Board and served as a member of the board, including two years as chairperson, for CFRE International and is active in promoting the credential in the religious philanthropic sector.

Jim and his wife Effie live in Omaha, Nebraska. They have three grown children who live in Philadelphia, Gunnison and Anchorage.
